Wes Dunaway has never been interested in practicing law from an ivory tower.

Long before he focused his practice on probate, estate planning, and trust litigation, Wes built a career solving complex problems in both the legal and technology worlds. With a background in computer science, finance, and law, he brings a practical, analytical approach to every matter he handles—whether helping a family navigate the loss of a loved one, resolving a contested estate dispute, or creating an estate plan designed to protect future generations.

A Tennessee native, Wes earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Furman University before completing his MBA with a concentration in Finance at Rollins College. Before entering the legal profession, he spent years in the technology sector, managing critical systems and leading projects for Attorneys’ Title Fund Services, one of Florida’s most respected title insurance organizations. The experience taught him something that still guides his practice today: complicated problems are best solved through preparation, organization, and careful attention to detail.

Wes graduated from Florida A&M University College of Law, where he ranked in the top 3% of his class and served on Law Review. After law school, he built his own law practice from the ground up, representing clients in probate, estate planning, guardianship, real estate, and litigation matters. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of how legal issues involving family, money, and legacy can quickly become deeply personal.

Today, Wes focuses his practice on probate administration, estate planning, probate and trust litigation, and real estate matters throughout Florida. He has represented personal representatives, beneficiaries, trustees, heirs, and families in some of the most difficult and emotionally charged situations they will ever encounter. Whether the issue involves administering an estate, resolving a family dispute, defending a fiduciary, or creating a comprehensive estate plan, Wes believes clients deserve straightforward advice, honest communication, and practical solutions.

Besides being the Managing Partner Probate Wizards, Wes remains as “Of Counsel” here at Kovar Law Group, where he was a partner for many years. He still handles various interesting legal projects and some complex litigation for Kovar Law Group.

What drives Wes is simple: helping people solve difficult problems and move forward with confidence. He understands that legal issues involving family, money, and legacy are rarely just legal issues. They are life issues. His goal is to help clients find clarity, protect what matters most, and achieve the best possible outcome for themselves and their families.
